The End of Christmas Vacation

I am always so sad when Christmas is over. It comes and goes so quickly. You spend so much time and energy getting ready for it, and then in a blink of an eye it is gone. I have really enjoyed these 4 days off and I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow (yuck!). Why do your days off go by so quickly as well?
But at least I had a great 4 days...We went over to our friends, Mike and Korri's, on Christmas Eve and shared it with their family. It was so much fun, they have the sweetest family. They had many, many kids at their house, so it was fun to see Christmas through a child's eyes. Afterwards, Kevin and I came home, enjoyed some hot chocolate, and then he made me go straight to bed. He said "Santa still had to wrap all my gifts"!! I think Santa must be a procrastinator:)
On Christmas morning, we woke up early and opened our gifts. Here are a few pics:

All the gifts under our tree
Me and my new purse (a gift from my hubby)

Kevin and his new Missouri shirt (a gift from me)

After opening gifts, we got busy cooking Christmas dinner. Our neighbor Scott and his two girls, Megan and Molly, came over for dinner. It was low-key, but nice. I was a little sad since this was my first Christmas EVER to be away from my family, but it was still nice to have Christmas at my own house for once.

Diesel got one too, I just had a hard time getting a picture of him with it.
Anyway, we spent the rest of the day just hanging out, talking, and playing games. We played "Phase 10" and "Yahtzee"... Look at this picture I took of Diesel while we were playing cards:

Is that not the saddest little face? He was dying for someone at the table to give him some attention. He looks like me now that Christmas is all over...so sad!
Well, I just wanted to share a glimpse of our Christmas day with everyone. I hope yours was just as merry!

Happy Howl-idays!

Elvis, Chloe and Diesel want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas Eve! Enjoy the day with the ones you love most (I am not so sure my dogs love me anymore after I made them put on their Christmas attire). One day until Christmas!

Trip to Kansas City

Two weeks ago, Kevin and I went to Kansas City to visit his family. We had a great time, but like always, the time went by so fast. During the week we visited friends, did some shopping, and hung out with family. On Saturday, we all got together at a bowling alley and had so much fun. We got to meet our new little nephew, Brody Lee McNeall, for the first time...and we instantly fell in love with him! He is the cutest baby. He is now 6 months old and smiles at EVERYTHING! I wanted to bring him back to Phoenix with us, but his mom and dad weren't too keen on that idea. But here are a few pictures of the day:

Here is Brody's Big Brother, Ryan, giving him a bottle (isn't that sweet?) He is such a good big brother.
And here is Brody (I told you he was cute!) I hate that I couldn't edit this picture to get the red-eye out, but he is still so cute anyway...
Kevin and I holding our newest nephew! The only time Brody wouldn't smile was when his Uncle Kevin was holding him...what does that tell you? I think he just likes his Aunt Brenda better:)
Adorable Brody!!!!
Our "grown-up" nephews...Caleb, Ryan, and Connor (could they look more happy about having their picture taken???) I don't think they appreciated me interrupting their bowling game to pose for a picture.
We enjoyed seeing the family. I can't believe how tall the boys have gotten! It is a shame that we really only see them once a year. But it so hard living in different states and everyone so busy with their jobs. We did get to celebrate Christmas early with them while we were there. We even got to see some snow, which really made it feel like Christmas!
Speaking of Christmas, it is only 4 days away! I hope everyone is ready. I will post more pictures from our trip later. Until then, everyone have a great week!

Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Lights

On thanksgiving, I did not feel very well so we went over to our neighbors to eat. It was just our neighbor, Scott, his two girls, Megan and Molly, and me and Kevin. We were all in our pajamas! I have never spent all of Thanksgiving day in my pajamas before! I quite enjoyed it. After dinner, we relaxed, took naps, watched football, and played several games of "Scene It" on their X-box. Here are a few pictures...notice the first one of Kevin sneaking food.

The day after Thanksgiving, we dug out the Christmas Decorations. I decorated the inside of the house and Kevin did the outside. I wish I could explain how "Griswold/Christmas Vacation" our street is...everyone puts up Christmas lights and lots of them...it has almost turned into a contest between all the men. Who can put up the most lights? Whose house looks the best? We did more than usual, but we still don't hold a candle to some of the houses on our street. But here a few pictures of Kevin's hard work:

Sorry for the bluriness of the pictures...it's hard to take pictures of lights at night. Anyway, last but not least, here is the decoration at the very front of our yard:

Yeah!!! ROLL TIDE! Our Christmas penguin is proudly displaying his love for the Crimson Tide, #1 team in the country, undefeated regular season!!! Of course, our neighbor Scott tells me to enjoy until this Saturday...then he will buy a motorized Christmas Gator to chomp on the flag (for those of you not into SEC football, the Florida Gators are playing Alabama on Saturday)! I hope he is wrong...
Until then, I hope everyone is enjoying gearing up for the holidays! Only 24 shopping days left!
